In this project, we will focus on editing with Final Cut Express, and will use it to create a widescreen video with a minimum length of three minutes. The final film will be submitted as a quicktime video which will covered in class. We will also be covering camera operation, camera movements, and creating a DVD using iDVD. In class we will decide as a group between doing:

a documentary/mockumentary.

Instead of doing a reading response for this project, you will storyboard, on paper, the camera moves and edits for five minutes of a film or television show. Please pick something that includes a fair amount of edits and moves, make sure it's something you can pause and rewind. Use this form or your own, and include the following information for each new edit:

A rough sketch of the shot.

Top view of where you think the camera is and how it's moving in relation to the subjects.

How the scene enters.

How the scene exits.

Anything else you think might be necessary to know (i.e. is it handheld, is it zooming in, are we looking throught the eyes of someone?)

You will need to use several storyboards in order to get all of the edits.
