Between Photo & Video |
||||
Referencing the animations we view in class, the ideas presented during class discussion, our flash tutorial, and our photoshop actions tutorial, produce five looped animation/video sequences using flash as a container/player for the stills.
The animations should each be under five seconds, and can be made from any combination of software and/or physical interaction that you wish to use. I would encourage you to use multiple mediums, and layer your animations with information. Try to include enough detail/information to make your videos straddle the line between "real life" and digital intervention.

Because the animations will be made from a series of sequential images, you can utilize stop motion photography, drawing, illustrator, sound, video, etc. to produce the series. The images can be further edited in photoshop, aftereffects, etc. as you see fit.
I want you to consider your animations as paintings that move or photographs on loop. How can you translate the qualities that make a still image effective? How do you make a video with no beginning, middle, or ending remain interesting? How much/little action is necessary? Do you strive for resolution or ambiguity?
Size: You can choose any proportion that you think best fits your work. But, the animations should be no larger than 450 pixels on any side.
